He has a collar covering his neck as well. Below the collar he appears to be wearing a medal in the shape of a cross.He is wearing a dark vest and dark pants. As you make your way down the print, he is resting his right hand on his lap while the left is resting on the one of the arms of the chair. In the background can be seen curtains that have been tied open. At the bottom of the print can be seen a coat of arms which has a crown above an oval frame. The frame has two eagles (one on each side of the frame). On each side of the coat of arms, can be seen the name Jules-Hardouin Mansart. Below the name there are latin inscriptions. Below the portrait in the lower right corner can be seen the artist's name.
