He has chin-length wavy hair with short bangs, and a beard beneath his chin and jaw. He stands barefoot, with his left hand on his hip, and his right hand shoulder-height, grasping a long staff, the top of which is cut off by the margin of the image. A halo emanates from behind his head, indicated by a series of small, ordered hatch marks in a circular form. He wears long, heavy-looking robes with many pleats, folds and layers, which are articulated by thin hatched and cross-hatched lines. He casts a shadow toward the right, on the ground, which is lighter at the foreground and darker behind, giving the illusion of a receding space.
