Inscribed on verso, in handwriting of Luigi Alamanni: "Continuoq(ue) avidis ubi subdita flamma medullis / vere magis, quia vere calor redit ossibus. illae / ore omnes verae in Zephyru(m) stant rupibus altis / exceptantq(ue) leves auras, et saepe sine ulllis / coniugiis vento gravidae, mirabile dictu / saxa p(er) et scopulos, et depressas convalles / diffugiunt, non Eure tuos, neq(ue) solis ad ortus / in Borea(m) cauru(m)q(ue), aut unde nigerrimus Auster / nascitur, et pluvio contristat frigore caelum."
