This is a spoon. It was made by Jules Boivin. It is dated 19th century and we acquired it in 1909. Its medium is silver. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

This object was donated by Mrs. John Hobart Warren.

Its dimensions are

L x W x D: 17.3 x 3.1 x 1.9 cm (6 13/16 x 1 1/4 x 3/4 in.)

It has the following markings

Bowl interior: Minerva head for silver fineness of .950 used after 1838. Exterior: countermark Bigorne used post 1838. Interior: maker's mark, a diamond shape with "JB" in the middle, a star in both the upper and lower regions, a crescent above the upper star .
