Ecuelle And Lid (France)

This is a Ecuelle and lid. It is dated ca. 1700 and we acquired it in 1911. Its medium is pewter. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

Its dimensions are

H x W x D: 8 x 30.5 x 18 cm (3 1/8 x 12 x 7 1/16 in.)

It has the following markings

On underside of one handle: Angers town mark; underside of other handle: maker's mark "M C" with deer going left in rounded stamp

It is inscribed

Inscribed in stick capitals on base of bowl: "R. Troviard" (or Troniard)
