Brisé Fan (China)

This is a Brisé fan. It is dated 1850–1860 and we acquired it in 1912. Its medium is carved tortoiseshell sticks, silk ribbon (probably replacement), tortoiseshell washer and metal loop at the rivet . It is a part of the Textiles department.

This object was donated by Clarence Hoblitzelle. It is credited Gift of Clarence Hoblitzelle.
