Bag (England)

This is a Bag. It is dated 17th century and we acquired it in 1928. Its medium is silk, metal-wrapped silk and coils of gilt foil on linen and its technique is embroidered in half-cross, tent, couching and bouillon stitches using silk; brick and plaited braid stitches using metal-wrapped silk plus coils of gilt foil on plain weave. It is a part of the Textiles department.

This object was donated by Sarah Cooper Hewitt and Eleanor Garnier Hewitt. It is credited Gift of Eleanor and Sarah Hewitt.
