This is a Mezzaro (shawl or headcovering). It is dated 1800–1850 and we acquired it in 1931. Its medium is cotton and its technique is printed on plain weave. It is a part of the Textiles department.

This object was donated by Eleanor Garnier Hewitt and Sarah Cooper Hewitt. It is credited Gift of Eleanor and Sarah Hewitt, from the textile collection of Mrs. Abram Stevens Hewitt.
