Drawing, Bacchanalian Scene

This is a Drawing. It was created by Johann Sebastian Bach. It is dated 1772–74 and we acquired it in 1931. Its medium is pen and grey ink, brush and grey, green, and pink watercolor washes on off-white laid paper, with watermark of fleur-de-lis in a shield surmounted by a crown. (probably dutch paper similar to briquet no. 7165.). It is a part of the Drawings, Prints, and Graphic Design department.

This object was donated by Eleanor Garnier Hewitt and Sarah Cooper Hewitt. It is credited Gift of Eleanor and Sarah Hewitt.
