Pittacus of Mytilene Portrait Medallion

This is a portrait medallion. It was manufactured by Wedgwood. It is dated 1767–1780 and we acquired it in 1913. Its medium is unglazed stoneware ("black basalt"). It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

This object was donated by Leverton Harris. It is credited Gift of Leverton Harris.
