It has the following markings

Watermark: Tablets with the firm of T. Dupuy, and a Maltese cross in a circular chain.

It is inscribed

Top center: "VITELLIUS/Neuviéme Empereur/des Romains." Bottom center, caption if twenty-one lines in an eschutcheon, beginning: "Vitellius étoit fils de" and ending: "l'an de grace 72." Address as 1914-49-1, bottom margin right: "9."
