Kain Panjang (long Sarong) (Indonesia)

This is a Kain panjang (long sarong). It is dated 1850–99 and we acquired it in 1937. Its medium is cotton and its technique is wax resist dyeing (batik) on plain weave. It is a part of the Textiles department.
