Textile (France)

This is a Textile. It was manufactured by Séguin et Cie. It is dated ca. 1805 and we acquired it in 1937. Its medium is silk, metal-wrapped silk threads, smooth and frisé and its technique is 8-harness satin patterned with continuous and discontinuous supplementary wefts and supplementary binding warp. It is a part of the Textiles department.

This object was donated by Herman A. Elsberg. It is credited Gift of Herman A. Elsberg on the Fortieth Anniversary of the Museum.
