Tea Caddy with Chinoiserie Vignettes Tea Caddy

This is a tea caddy. It was style of François Boucher and Jacques-Gabriel Huquier and manufactured by Royal Porcelain Manufactory, Berlin. It is dated ca. 1770 and we acquired it in 1938. Its medium is hard paste porcelain, vitreous enamel, gold. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

This object was bequest of Erskine Hewitt. It is credited Bequest of Erskine Hewitt.

Its dimensions are

H x W x D: 11.7 × 6.7 × 4.8 cm (4 5/8 × 2 5/8 × 1 7/8 in.)

It has the following markings

Underside: [1] scepter, painted in underglaze blue (Royal Porcelain Manufactory Berlin mark) [2] "OK", impressed underglaze [3] "1310' over 'g=1/2-", written in black ink on paper label,
