Fragment Of A Valance (India)

This is a Fragment of a valance. It is dated 1700–1725 and we acquired it in 1968. Its medium is cotton and its technique is mordant and resist painted and immersion dyed plain weave (chintz). It is a part of the Textiles department.

It is credited Museum purchase from Restricted Funds.
