Fragment (possibly Near East)

This is a Fragment. It is dated 19th century and we acquired it in 1972. Its medium is cotton, silk, metal, velvet and its technique is cut supplementary warp loops in a plain weave foundation (note that the foundation weft is metallic and the use of float patterning in the background). It is a part of the Textiles department.

It is credited Gift of Mrs. Clara Waldeck.
