Chintz Panel (India)

This is a Chintz panel. It is dated 18th century and we acquired it in 1973. Its medium is cotton and its technique is mordants for reds and purples applied over resist by brush and pen; madder dyed; blue applied by brush over resist; yellow applied by brush; chintz on plain weave. It is a part of the Textiles department.
