Chintz Fragments (India)

This is a Chintz fragments. It is dated 18th century and we acquired it in 1973. Its medium is cotton and its technique is mordants for 3 reds and 2 purples applied over resist by pen and brush; madder dyed; blue applied over resist by immersion; yellow applied by brush over blue; chintz on plain weave. It is a part of the Textiles department.
