Section Of A Petticoat (England)

This is a Section of a petticoat. It is dated 1700–1750 and we acquired it in 1974. Its medium is linen embroidery, cotton cording, cotton foundation and its technique is stitched using trapunto technique; embroidered in satin, stem, coral knot, french knot, and eyelet stitches with deflected element work. It is a part of the Textiles department.

This object was donated by Unknown. It is credited Gift of Anonymous Donor from the Fraser/Martin Collection.
