Sampler (Belgium)

This is a Sampler. It was embroidered by Marie Terese Fourbisseur. It is dated 1723 and we acquired it in 1976. Its medium is silk and linen embroidery on linen foundation and its technique is spaced running (pattern darning), four-sided and cross stitches on plain weave foundation. darning interlaces in one direction only. It is a part of the Textiles department.

This object was donated by Unknown. It is credited Gift of Anonymous Donor from the Fraser/Martin Collection.
