Sampler (Mexico)

This is a Sampler. It is dated early 19th century and we acquired it in 1976. Its medium is silk and linen on linen and its technique is cross, long-armed cross, double running, stem, "aztec" and deflected element work on plain weave foundation; counted stitches; hemmed at bottom and top; cut edge at right. It is a part of the Textiles department.

This object was donated by Unknown. It is credited Gift of Anonymous Donor from the Fraser/Martin Collection.
