Perraje (shawl) (Guatemala)

This is a Perraje (shawl). It is dated 1901–50 and we acquired it in 1976. Its medium is cotton, silk and its technique is warp resist dyed prior to weaving (jaspe); warp-faced plain weave. It is a part of the Textiles department.
