Egg Cosy (England)

This is a Egg cosy. It is dated ca. 1900 and we acquired it in 1978. Its medium is silk and linen on linen foundation and its technique is cutwork with buttonhole, overcasting and knot stitches on plain weave foundation; areas of the foundation were cut away revealing the blue plain weave padded lining. It is a part of the Textiles department.
