Cigarette Holder and Case Matchsafe

This is a matchsafe. It is dated 1903–04 and we acquired it in 1978. Its medium is silver, plastic, gold. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

It has the following markings

R.P., anchor, lion passant, date letter "d", all stamped on case bezel; same marks stamped on bezel of long cigarette case holder; lion passant, date letter "d" stamped on underside of cigarette holder case lid; R.P., 9, .375, anchor, date letter "d", all stamped on gold bezel of cigarette holder (9 & .375 signify 9ct. gold); lion passant stamped on 2 silver links.
