Pleated Fan

This is a Pleated fan. It is dated 1820–1830 and we acquired it in 1949. Its medium is paper leaf with gilded hand-colored etching, carved bone sticks with metallic foil decoration, mother-of-pearl rivet. It is a part of the Textiles department.
