Pleated Fan

This is a Pleated fan. It was after Jean Baptiste Joseph Pater. It is dated 1760–80 and we acquired it in 1952. Its medium is painted parchment leaf backed with painted paper, incised and pierced mother-of-pearl sticks with applied metallic foil, glass stone at the rivet. It is a part of the Textiles department.

This object was donated by Unknown. It is credited Gift of Anonymous Donor.
