Soup Plate (England)

This is a soup plate. It was manufactured by Wedgwood. It is dated ca. 1780 and we acquired it in 1955. Its medium is glazed earthenware (queen's ware), overglaze decoration. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

Its dimensions are

H x diam. (a): 3.5 x 24.8 cm (1 3/8 x 9 3/4 in.) H x diam. (b): 3.5 x 24.6 cm (1 3/8 x 9 11/16 in.)

It has the following markings

On underside, stamped: "WEDGWOOD"; incised: "Y A"
