Pleated Fan (probably England)

This is a Pleated fan. It is dated 1725–40 and we acquired it in 1959. Its medium is paper leaf with hand-colored etching, pierced and painted ivory sticks, rivet set with faceted stone. It is a part of the Textiles department.

This object was donated by Emily H. Chauncey. It is credited Bequest of Emily H. Chauncey.
