Band (Peru)

This is a Band. It is dated 18th century (crossed out and marked 'L. C. Coast') and we acquired it in 1962. Its medium is wool and its technique is slit tapestry, use of non-horizontal wefts; long slits up the side are sewn together; warp selvage at one end of each fragment; sides: ragged, some intact. It is a part of the Textiles department.

This object was donated by Unknown. It is credited Gift of Anonymous Donor in memory of Alexander M. Bing.
