Flyer, Tourist Class in Orient Liners

This is a Flyer. It was designed by E. McKnight Kauffer and made for (as the client) Orient Line, Anderson, Green & Company Ltd.. It is dated ca. 1935 and we acquired it in 1963. Its medium is lithograph. It is a part of the Drawings, Prints, and Graphic Design department.


Kauffer developed a diverse graphic identity to promote Orient Line’s new passenger liners to Australia and New Zealand. He designed everything from luggage tags and table assignment cards to promotional pamphlets and posters. Kauffer’s Orient Line logo customized many objects of daily use, including tableware that remained in production for decades.

This object was donated by Mrs. Edward McKnight Kauffer. It is credited Gift of Mrs. E. McKnight Kauffer.
