Salad Bowl Bowl

This is a bowl. It was probably Jacques-François Micaud and manufactured by Sèvres Porcelain Manufactory. It is dated 1763 and we acquired it in 1963. Its medium is soft paste porcelain, vitreous enamel, gold. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

This object was donated by Mrs. John Jay Ide. It is credited The John Jay Ide Collection.

Its dimensions are

H x W x D: 11.3 × 29.4 × 28.3 cm (4 7/16 × 11 9/16 × 11 1/8 in.)

It has the following markings

Underside: [1] interlaced LLs enclosing "k", painted in blue overglaze (manufactory mark and date letter) [2] "X", painted in blue overglaze (painter's mark, beneath mark [1])
