Sampler (USA)

This is a Sampler. It was embroidered by Ann E. Kelly and student at Mrs. Leah Merguier's School. It is dated 1828 and we acquired it in 1941. Its medium is silk embroidery, cotton foundation, painted paper and its technique is embroidered in chain, buttonhole, satin, and cross stitches on plain weave foundation. It is a part of the Textiles department.

This object was bequest of Mrs. Henry E. Coe. It is credited Bequest of Mrs. Henry E. Coe.
