Sampler (USA)

This is a Sampler. It was embroidered by Lucy D. Stickney. It is dated 1830 and we acquired it in 1941. Its medium is silk embroidery, linen foundation, watercolor paint and its technique is embroidered in cross, satin, and stem stitches and french knots on plain weave foundation. It is a part of the Textiles department.
