Sampler (England)

This is a Sampler. It was embroidered by Elanor Guest. It is dated early 18th century and we acquired it in 1941. Its medium is silk, metal-wrapped silk and hair embroidery, linen foundation and its technique is satin, montenegrin cross, long-armed cross, knot, stem, chain, rococo, and running stitches on plain weave. It is a part of the Textiles department.
