Sampler

This is a Sampler. It is dated 17th century and we acquired it in 1941. Its medium is silk and linen embroidery on linen and its technique is double running, long-armed cross, eyelet, satin, buttonhole, marking cross, cross, herringbone and back stitches, withdrawn element work with needle lace fillings. It is a part of the Textiles department.

This object was bequest of Mrs. Henry E. Coe. It is credited Bequest of Mrs. Henry E. Coe.
