Sampler (England)

This is a Sampler. It was embroidered by Alls Tanner. It is dated 1702 and we acquired it in 1941. Its medium is silk and linen embroidery on linen and its technique is cross, montenegrin cross, eyelet, satin, double running, and detached looping stitches, withdrawn element work with needle lace fillings. It is a part of the Textiles department.

This object was bequest of Mrs. Henry E. Coe. It is credited Bequest of Mrs. Henry E. Coe.
