Vase (Austria)

This is a vase. It was manufactured by Alexandra Porcelain Works. It is dated ca. 1900 and we acquired it in 1995. Its medium is porcelain, enamel, gilding. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

This object was donated by Ms. June Braun and Mr. Robert Leibowits. It is credited Gift of June Braun and Robert Leibowits.

Its dimensions are

H x Diam: 23.5 x 16. 5 cm.

It has the following markings

Marks: In red on underside of vase: shield with vertical stripes and initials E W and a diagonal band, from lower left to upper right, with the word Vienna; shield surmounted by a crown with the word Turn. Painted in black: 5946, 2670, 21(not clear). Stamped: 25, 5946. See: Cushion, J.P., Handbook of Pottery and Porcelain Marks, 1980, pp. 91 & 92.
