Fragment (France)

This is a Fragment. It was manufactured by Haussmann and made by Haussmann, Jordan Hirn et Comp.. It is dated mid-19th century and we acquired it in 1996. Its medium is cotton and its technique is block printed on plain weave foundation. It is a part of the Textiles department.

This object was bequest of Elinor Merrell. It is credited Bequest of Elinor Merrell.

H x W: 13.5 × 36 cm (5 5/16 × 14 3/16 in.)

It is inscribed

Incomplete stamp " HAUSSMANN JORDA ... ET COMP A COLMAR HAU.." within a black frame. The name of a printer "C Wunderlich" has been printed three times, in red, pink and black. On back, handwritten in ink, "fond blanc".
