Sample Card

This is a Sample card. It was produced by American Print Works. It is dated ca. 1835 and we acquired it in 1996. Its medium is cotton on paper and its technique is roller printed on plain weave. It is a part of the Textiles department.

This object was bequest of Elinor Merrell. It is credited Bequest of Elinor Merrell.

It is inscribed

At top is a pasted paper print of an eagle on a rock with a ship in the background and the text, "American Print Works". Handwritten in ink on the outside cover, "Sample card of Prints in Store of Nathaniel White, South Deerfield, N.H., about the year 1835."
