Tropics Bowl

This is a bowl. It was manufactured by Willets Mfg. Co.. It is dated ca. 1875–85 and we acquired it in 1999. Its medium is gilt and glazed earthenware. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

This object was donated by Brooklyn Museum. It is credited Gift of the Brooklyn Museum of Art, Paul F. Walter Collection.

On reverse: [1] "OPAQUE PORCELAIN" around cursive monogram "CMW" (?), impressed underglaze [2] "TROPICS" / "WILLETS" separated by dash-dot-dash line, painted in overglaze red
