Earrings

This is a earrings. It was made by Paul Lobel. We acquired it in 1997. Its medium is silver. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

It is credited Gift of Gretchen Gayle Ellsworth and Margot Gayle.

A highly polished electroplated nickel silver tea service with three serving vessels and a tray. The teapot, sugar and creamer - all globe-shaped - have knobs and spouts that are triangular. Each handle is an inverted L. The teapot has a small band of wood on the handle to prevent the heat from burning whoever is serving the tea. Each of the serving objects sit on a short silver mounting. There are six stubby feet on the underside of the tray, which angle down and allow the bottom of the tray to remain unscratched. Rectangular handles on the short sides of the tray carry through the geometric theme of the design.
