Sidewall, Sahara

This is a sidewall. It was designed by Edward Bawden and manufactured by The Curwen Press. It is dated 1928 and we acquired it in 2003. Its medium is lithograph from lino cut. It is a part of the Wallcoverings department.

This Sahara sidewall, by Edward Bawden, was printed in 1928. It is a lithograph of a linoleum block print. The original printings were done on small sheets instead of rolls.
This is one of three sheets of the Sahara design being considered for acquisition. These papers would complement our existing Bawden designs and allow us to exhibit Sahara in repeat.

This object was donated by Brian Gracie. It is credited Gift of Brian Gracie.

Its dimensions are

Overall: 70.7 x 53.5 cm (27 13/16 x 21 1/16 in.)
