Ingots To Finished Handmade "Hanoverian" Dessert Fork (England)

This group of objects documents progressive stages in the production of a handmade silver fork, from ingot to finished product, which involves the making and sharpening of tines; the art of making tines was not possessed by many silversmiths capable of making spoons. This line of production remains the same today as it was the 18th century and is produced by a successor firm to the original 18th-century manufacturer. This group was made for James Robinson, Inc.
