Ingots To Finished Handmade "Hanoverian" Dessert Spoon (England)

This group of objects documents progressive stages in the production of a handmade silver spoon, from ingot to finished product, in a method used in the 18th century. This line of production remains the same today as it was the 18th century and is produced by a successor firm to the original 18th-century manufacturer. The end result is an example of one of the most enduring designs in history. This group was made for James Robinson, Inc.
