Inscribed in pen and brown ink, lower center: A Torra di Ottaggio attaccata alli [...] di Aprile 1625 / da S.A. di Sanoia / B Castello che si dette fuoco p[er] suspetto dell Inimico / a alcuni barili di poluere, e uolo [...] / C Venuta dell Duca di Sausia / D posto dello squadrone di Lodovico Guasco che / si ritiro, e fu rotto e si impadrouirono dell Borgo (A Castle and village of Ottaggio attacked on April 8, 1625 by His Highness of Savoy / B Castle which was blown up by firing (igniting) some kegs of powder, a work suspected to have been done by the enemy. [The castle] blew in [...] / C Road of access followed by the Duke of Savoy / D Site in which the squadron of Lodovico Guasco was located. [This squadron] retreated, was utterly defeated and thus [the invaders] captured the town.)
