The cat’s body is light grey and patterned with dark grey musical notes, specifically eighth notes, except its round solid grey belly. Its front paws are clasped together and it is perched up on its hind legs. Its upright body curves out to the right while its upright tail waves to the left. The cat’s head is tilted up with an open mouth revealing a large front tooth. The cat’s heavy-lidded eyes look off to the upper right. The cat has a mop of short, yarn-like red hair and wears an oversized grey- and red-striped bow tie. Two small notices are nailed to the fence below the cat, in the same typeface as the title. The small, square left note reads “Lyrics and Title by Al Hoffman Adaptation by Ted Mossman from Sergei Prokofieff’s “Peter and the Wolf”. The wide, rectangular right note reads “Martin Music” in red handwritten-like letters, above “Pacific Music Sales Inc. Sole Selling Agents 6047 Hollywood Boulevard, Hollywood, California”. To the right of the cat, just above the fence, is a small white copyright notice: “Copyright 1946 by Martin Music”.
