Darning Sampler (Northern Germany)

This is a Darning sampler. It is dated late 19th century and we acquired it in 1981. Its medium is silk and cotton embroidery on linen foundation and its technique is embroidered in counted running (pattern darning) stitches on plain weave foundation. It is a part of the Textiles department.
