Swag Leg Chair

This is a chair. It was designed by George Nelson and manufactured by Herman Miller Furniture Company. It is dated 1958 and we acquired it in 1986. Its medium is molded fiberglass, swaged tubular steel, rubber composite. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

This object was donated by Patricia Pastor and Barry Friedman. It is credited Gift of Barry Friedman and Patricia Pastor.

Wall unit made of several materials such as wood, plastic, and steel. The steel, along with iron, make up the legs and dividers of the unit. The platforms have wooden shelves. In one of the upper compartments there are wooden dividers which gives it a mailbox slot look. At the bottom of the unit, in the lower left corner, there is a chest that can open up so a platform can be pulled out so it acts as a desk. On the leg next to the chest there is a lamp with a triangular cover which gives light to the desk. In the lower right hand corner there are three wooden drawers.
