Long Trip Necklace Necklace

This is a necklace. It was designed by Jung-Hoo Kim. It is dated 1986 and we acquired it in 1987. Its medium is colorcore, molded rioba plastic, painted acrylic, sterling silver, rubber. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

It is credited Gift of Jung-Hoo Kim.

Black cord with 26 small, white clothespins strung on it. The clothespins are close together and create a half circle shape. Each one holds a torn colorcore sample, which appears like torn paper. The fragments are tones of gray, blue, and violet, but are not in any particular order. The fragments are not uniformly shaped but in general are about the length of the clothespins and narrower than they are long. The ends of the chord are untied.
