Fruit Dish (England)

This is a Fruit dish. It was produced by Goldsmiths and Silversmiths Co., Ltd.. It is dated 1900–01 and we acquired it in 1986. Its medium is raised silver, enamel. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

It is credited Museum purchase from General Acquisition Endowment.

It has the following markings

Stamped on underside of bowl: "G & S Co. Ltd." in shaped shield / lion passant / leopard's head / date letter 'f' for 1901-02." Engraved underside of foot in block capitals: "GOLDSMITHS COMPANY / 112 REGENT ST. LONDON W." Later inventory scratchmarks: "3850 / 28327 / 55590."
